Chicago Review Press Joins Creative Byline

August 19, 2009 -- Chicago Review Press has joined Creative Byline, enabling its editors to receive and review manuscripts electronically and giving writer members more options for interested editors.

Since their founding in 1973, Chicago Review Press has grown into a dynamic midsize publisher with more than 300 titles of national interest, currently bringing out about 60 new titles yearly under four imprints: Chicago Review Press, Lawrence Hill Books, A Cappella, and Zephyr Press.
  • Chicago Review Press publishes general nonfiction, including popular science, parenting, biography, and travel. Their rediscovered classics series has brought back into print beloved novels such as Forever Amber by Kathleen Winsor, Katherine by Anya Seton, and The Ivy Tree by Mary Stewart. Chicago Review Press also publishes a line of sophisticated nonfiction children's activity books for highly motivated young readers and teachers in need of engaging classroom supplements.
  • Lawrence Hill Books specializes in nonfiction on topics of African American and Latino interest, progressive politics, civil and human rights, and feminism. Lawrence Hill classics include Assata: An Autobiography by Assata Shakur and Soledad Brother: The Prison Letters of George Jackson.
  • A Cappella is a publisher of music and film books, including the well-reviewed Cuba and Its Music by Ned Sublette; Let's Spend the Night Together: Backstage Secrets of Rock Muses and Supergroupies by Pamela Des Barres; and Flickipedia: Perfect Films for Every Occasion, Holiday, Mood, Ordeal, and Whim by Michael Atkinson and Laurel Shifrin.
  • Zephyr Press publishes education resources for teachers that help them better understand how kids learn and how they can be more effective in the classroom. Recent titles include Art Is Fundamental by Eileen Prince and The Parent-Teacher Partnership by Scott Mandel.
