CreativeByline.com Live with New Features and Services

August 20, 2009 -- CreativeByline.com has relaunched its website, moving out of beta and offering a more complete package to help writers and editors find each other and common interests.

All members who signed up during the beta phase have been converted to Introductory Members on the new Creative Byline site. Introductory Members can assemble project packages as appropriate for specific genres; Creative Byline coaches members on the required components. Introductory Members can see how many editors are interested in each package as soon as they’ve selected a genre. And Introductory Members can create personal portfolios, so editors looking for writers for assignment can find them.

New Membership Level, New Features

Inclusive Members, who subscribe for $29 quarterly or $99 annually, have additional capabilities and benefits available. Inclusive Members can
  • Choose the level of first-reader review that’s most helpful to them, investing from $15 to $199 for constructive feedback. The highest-level review includes two rounds of feedback and a person-to-person conversation with the first reader so questions can be answered or points clarified.
  • Expand their portfolios to include more about their specialties and interests, more online presence, and more writing and publishing accomplishments. Those additional components make it easier for editors in search of writers to find a perfect match.
  • Search for editors for each project or by genre, read their profiles, see what they’ve published before and what they’re looking for now.
  • Submit endorsed manuscripts to interested editors at no cost. There’s no limit to the number of times a project can be submitted—except the interest of editors!
  • Take advantage of specially selected writer-focused discounts through the WriteGoods program. With discounts from Barnes & Noble, Staples, and Poets & Writers Magazine, you can save the entire cost of your Creative Byline membership!
  • Get insight into the market for each project. Effective in early September, each project will link directly to market trends and buyer demographics for the genre.
Any beta Creative Byline members with work in progress (submitted to or eligible for submission to a first reader, the Manuscript Library, or an editor) will receive individual communication from Creative Byline to make sure they’re able to follow through on that project.

Current members can sign in to the site and read much more detail about the new capabilities under the “Support” link, upper right-hand corner. Non-members can sign up for the free Introductory level to learn more about the full benefits of the site.

“We’ve been able to demonstrate that we can connect writers and editors,” says Brad MacLean, CEO of Creative Byline, Inc. “In our beta phase, writers got feedback from first readers in three days, on average, and from editors in just over 8 days. That’s a far cry from the traditional model, where it can take months to get feedback on a manuscript. We’re pleased to take our services for writers and editors to the next level.”

Creative Byline is an online service that enables writers and editors to connect quickly and directly, according to their interests and qualifications. Writers can keep moving with their writing work, and editors can find work or writers who match their current markets and criteria.
