At Creative Byline, we’re dedicated to protecting your privacy on line. This policy explains how we do so, and it governs your use of our site.

Collecting and Using Information
The Creative Byline site is used by writers and by editors who work for select publishers. Each group uses this site differently. If you are an editor, the publisher for which you work has given us information about you so that we can set up an account for you. When you start using our service, you will give us additional information that can be shared with writers and that will enable us to identify works in which you may be interested. Your publisher has signed an agreement with Creative Byline that sets forth rules of conduct for using this site, and you will be responsible for following those rules.

If you are a writer, you will set up a writer’s profile that includes information you want editors to know about you. You also will have signed a membership agreement with Creative Byline that sets forth the terms and conditions that govern your use of the site. If you fail to follow these rules, Creative Byline may cancel your right to use this site.

We may also receive information about you from other publicly available sources and may collect information anytime you post, participate, or otherwise communicate though our site.  We reserve the right to collect such information, either on an individual or aggregate basis. Information that you provide as part of your profile may be shared with other users and with employees and agents of Creative Byline, so please do not include any information you do not want others to see.

Creative Byline will use the information it collects about you to provide its services. You agree that we may do so, at our discretion, and that we are not liable in any way for such use. We do not share personal information we learn about you with others except as described in this policy and in our contract with you or your publisher.

It is not our business to sell your personal information or your works to others. Further, we do not share your information with unrelated third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We may, however, share information with our business partners in order to provide you with services. For example, we may use contractors to help us run our site or provide other online services. We will share data with our business partners for these purposes only upon terms that prohibit them from making any independent commercial use of individually identifiable information or the works submitted to this site and that prohibit them from sharing the information with third parties or otherwise making it publicly available. We also reserve the right to disclose aggregate information about the visitors to our website, but this information is not individually identifiable.

We may release personal information or information about your submitted work without prior notice when we believe it is appropriate to prevent fraud or copyright infringement; to comply with law or to cooperate with law enforcement activity or other governmental request; to respond to subpoenas, court orders or administrative agency requests for information; to enforce our policies; and to protect the rights, property and safety of our business and of others. If we ever sell the company, division, or business unit that operates this site, we may also transfer the information we have collected in connection with such sale or merger.
