Here's how we do it:

• You upload your synopsis and manuscript or excerpt, along with genre-appropriate additional documents.
• A Creative Byline first reader reviews your work and gives you feedback about whether it’s ready to go to an editor.
• If it’s not ready, you’ll get suggestions for revisions. You decide what suggestions to take and how to implement them. A first reader will give your manuscript a second read.
• When your manuscript is qualified, you choose an editor to target with your query package—adding a cover letter to the synopsis, manuscript, and other documents. Or submit your manuscript to the Manuscript Library, where participating editors may go to search by their own criteria.
• The editor reviews your query package and lets you know whether it's a fit for what he or she is looking for (we guarantee a response within three weeks, or you can submit to another editor!). If it’s not, you can look for another editor who’s a better fit. If it is, you’re off and running negotiating the future of your manuscript directly with the editor!
